Children Puja

Namkaran Puja is of utmost importance amongst Hindus. It is one of the first religious Puja that everyone participates as a child. The word Naam means Name, and Karan means to make or to effect; hence, the word Namkaran means to decide and effect the name of a new born child. The ceremony is presided by a priest in which all the family members get together for a joyous celebration to welcome a new member in the house.

Hindu culture is full of different samskaras. Annaprashan Puja is one such important ceremony. The occasion when a baby consumes food for the first time is celebrated as Annaprashan Ceremony. It is a time of celebration where friends and family are invited to be a part of this joyous occasion. The process is also known as the 'First Rice Eating Ceremony'. It is known by different names like 'Mukhe Bhaat', 'Choroonu', and 'Bhaatkhulai'. It is performed on even days for boys and odd days for girls.

Birthdays are probably the most awaited days of the year. It is the day we are born, the timing of which decides our future based on our nakshatras. This day determines who we are shaped as people and what our nature will be as a result of our stars. A special day, where our near and dear ones celebrate us being born in this world. But no celebration is complete without a Puja. A Birthday Puja is undertaken for various purposes, but mostly to make the occasion even more scared and special.
